Sheet Metal Worker
Manchester or Grimsby based

We are currently looking for time served Sheet Metal Workers who hold either an NVQ or City & Guilds in Sheet Metal work. We require the candidates to be competent in working with stainless steel and possess the ability to weld in both TIG and MIG to a good standard.

You should be able to interpret engineering drawing to aid you in the manufacture of sheet metal fabrications.

You will need to be highly organised, with the ability to follow instructions, have a comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and an ability to work on your own initiative with problem solving capabilities. At times you will be working under pressure and to deadlines, but at all times you will need excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills.

Ideally you will also hold an SPA although this is not essential as full training will be given.

You should be able to travel and be prepared to work away from home occasionally.

Project Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager with a background in engineering management. You should have a BTEC, HNC/HND or a degree in a related field. APM or PMI Accreditation are essential.

The candidate must be able to establish project structure, roles and responsibilities. The ability to comply with legal requirements for health and safety, establish safe working practises and levels of control throughout the project is essential.

You will need to possess the skill to prepare construction assessments and phasing schemes. Experience in managing sub-contractors is desirable as you will be required to manage the clients expectations and build relationships. We will expect the candidate to ensure timely submittal of accurate timesheets for people under your control. We would expect timely communication of resources, design, manufacture and installation.

Duties include:

  • Inspect worksite to determine presence of obstructions and ascertain any weaknesses
  • Plan installation or repair work, avoiding obstructions
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipe
  • Install and assemble a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings
  • Connect pipes
  • Secure pipes to structure
  • Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
  • Increase pressure in pipe system, observing connected pressure gauge, to test for leaks in the system
  • Observe production machines to detect machinery malfunctions

Lead Design Engineer/ Design Draughtsman

Allied Protek offer a solution to clientele within the manufacturing sector in particular the food industry. The clients approach Allied Protek with projects and we assist with the project from design concept right through to installations.

Core requirements and role objectives:

  • Experience working with AutoCAD, 3D and Solidworks software
  • Ability to design full scope of each project from pipe installations to machinery and production lines
  • Must be able to multi-task as work on multiple projects may be required simultaneously
  • Must be able to identify and solve problems effectively
  • Communication skills are key, as constant communication with project managers for guidance on modifications and improvements to designs
  • Experience with design of pipework, platforms, chutes and ducting
  • Some travel may be required to scope client requirements on site

Essential skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for an estimator to produce priced tenders that are accurate, clearly detailed, competitive and returned within deadlines.

You will work alongside the management team and maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations and provide clearly defined tender packages.

Duties and Responsibilities

Review incoming enquiries and provide an overview to the estimating / project team

Identify labour, material, plant, subcontract and contractual requirements

Collate all information & subcontract costs.

Apply rates for labour, overheads and all other associated costs

Present prepared estimate in order for review by the estimating / project team.

Liaise with Commercial / Project Management on live projects.

Business Development Manager to work in a sales position within the company. Job description

  • Farming our current client base renewing lost contacts
  • Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings
  • Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
  • Planning and preparing presentations for introductory and review meetings
  • Writing reports following site visits
  • Providing management with feedback
  • Identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services
  • Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
  • Think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
  • Help to plan sales campaigns
